Effective September 2026 · These terms govern the use of the Encore Legal Academy pages of encorelegalprocess.com and enrollment in Academy programs. "Academy", "we" and "us" mean Encore Legal Process, Inc., doing business as Encore Legal Academy.
The Texas Process Server 8-hour Certification Course is approved by the Texas Judicial Branch Certification Commission (JBCC) under Program No. PSC20260305 for the term September 1, 2026 to August 30, 2028. The provider of record is Encore Legal Process dba Encore Legal Academy. The Academy is not affiliated with, endorsed by or a partner of the JBCC. Other Academy programs are not continuing education and carry no JBCC credit unless the program page says otherwise.
You must be at least 18 and register in your own legal name — the name on the account is the name that prints on your certificate and must match your JBCC certification. You are responsible for keeping your password and second-factor device secure. Accounts are personal and may not be shared.
JBCC rules require online providers to verify the identity of the person taking the course and to record actual participation time. By enrolling you agree that you will personally complete every module, quiz and assessment; that you will complete two-factor authentication when asked; and that the Academy records your login, seat time, module completion, quiz answers and assessment results. Having another person complete any part of the course for you, or attempting to defeat the seat-time or identity controls, ends your enrollment without refund and may be reported to the JBCC.
Enrollment is granted on payment of the price shown at checkout and includes 12 months of access from purchase, or until the approval term ends if sooner. Prices may change; the price you paid does not. Refunds are governed by the Refund Policy.
A certificate of completion issues automatically when every module has met its minimum seat time, every module quiz has been passed at 80% and the end-of-course assessment has been passed at 70%. One assessment retake is included after a review of the missed topics. You are responsible for filing the certificate with your JBCC renewal; the Academy does not file it for you unless the JBCC requires providers to report, in which case we will tell you. Certificates may be re-issued only in the name on the account.
We keep your enrollment, participation and assessment records for the period required of JBCC-approved providers and produce them to the Commission on request. Our Privacy Policy describes what we collect and how it is used.
Course materials are owned by Encore Legal Process, Inc. and are licensed to you for your own study. You may download the participant handouts for your own use. You may not copy, record, redistribute, sell or use the materials to build another course. Course content is education about Texas law and practice as of the dates stated in the course; it is not legal advice, and it does not replace the rules, statutes and JBCC guidance themselves, which control if they differ.
Programs other than the continuing-education course (including the Owner's Track, working sessions and any pilot programs) provide education and business guidance based on the Academy's experience. They are not legal, tax or accounting advice, and they carry no JBCC credit. Offers for these programs and for contractor work with Encore Legal Process, Inc. appear only outside the approved eight hours and never condition your certificate.
We send course and certificate emails to every learner. Marketing emails go only to learners who opt in at registration and can be stopped at any time using the unsubscribe link.
We may suspend or end an enrollment for breach of these terms, in particular sections 2 and 3. You may close your account at any time; records required by the JBCC are retained regardless.
The site and courses are provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Academy's liability for any claim arising from a program is limited to the amount you paid for that program. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts sitting in Fort Bend County, Texas.
We may update these terms; the effective date above changes when we do, and material changes are announced by email to enrolled learners. Questions: shane@encorelegalprocess.com · (800) 914-0365 · Encore Legal Process, Inc., d/b/a Encore Legal Academy, [Mailing address].
